LaNelle Weems has over 30 years of experience in nursing with 13 years of administrative experience and 10 years as a Project Director with the Mississippi Office of Nursing Workforce. Mrs. Weems’ interests include leadership, healthcare career promotion, recruitment and retention, patient safety and quality, simulation training and clinical placement administration.
She is the Project Director for the Mississippi Simulation Healthcare Alliance and administrator of the electronic clinical placement system for education and clinical partners. Mrs. Weems has contributed to the writing and directed multiple grants from federal and state entities and local foundations. She has co-authored an article on Simulation for the MS Board of Nursing magazine. Mrs. Weems is a Senior Improvement Leader Fellow with the AHA Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) and a Clinical Director for the HEN Initiative. She has also received LEAN training from the Virginia Mason Institute.
LaNelle is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Mississippi Organization of Nurse Executives, Sigma Theta Tau, American College Healthcare Executives, and the Symposium for Leaders in Healthcare Quality. LaNelle received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s in Executive Nursing from the University of Mississippi.
